My voice seems to sound artifical :( « Result #1 on Dec 7, 2009, 5:02pm »
Well briefly...
I'm 18 singing as a bass or Tenor in a choir, Been there for 1 year(school and hobby choir)
And here I go... I often sing and I actually love to but while I sing and hit the tones, my brother tells me that my voice sounds artifical and fake, while covering songs like "how to save a life" by the fray...
After recording it, I had to admit it... I'm feared, that my voice will sound like this even if I practice a lot and hard...:(
Actually I'm scared, 'cause I'd really appreachiate to sing a solo but with that weird sounding voice it seems to be redicioulus...
Hmm and sorry for my bad language and false expressions I'm from Germany and not a native ^^

I want to take singing to the next level! « Result #3 on Dec 5, 2009, 10:46pm »
Hey there To introduce myself, I'm Andre Sierra. I'm a 17 year old male. Ok well, singing is my PASSION, and when I say passion, I mean P A S S I O N. There is nothing I love more than singing, and I will do whatever it takes to become great at it! Now here's the problem.. The only singing I do is when I sing along to songs. I want to take it to the next level. I want to write songs (I'm also learning guitar at the moment) and learn ranges and tones and all that. But I'm scared that maybe I'm too old already to get really really good? Cause one of my friends had told me that it's too late to get really good at singing because I'm already 17 and these things need to be done from when you're young But i REALLY REALLY REAAAALLY want this more than ever. It is my dream. My goal. What can I do to get started? Is my friend right? Please be 100% honest!! thank you!
Hey everyone, my name's Andre Sierra. I'm 17 years old and love to run. I've ran all my life (Cross Country/Track) and I've always loved it. But theres something else in my life that I grew a passion over the years that I never attempted to my fullest.. & That's singing ! I love to sing and play the guitar. I'm not too good but it is my TRUE passion and I am so determined to get better and better over the years to come!

Need Help Buying How to Sing Book « Result #6 on Dec 5, 2009, 3:21pm »
Hi there,
I have a friend that really enjoys singing while playing the guitar. They have full music theory background and are pretty good at singing but they don't have any training or any real know how about vocals. I wanted to get them a book for Christmas so that they could learn a little more about the techniques and I thought I could get some suggestions from people that are actually have know how about the subject. I was looking at the Singing for Dummies but I've never really been a fan of the Dummies collection. What do you guys think?
Screaming Newbie « Result #8 on Nov 25, 2009, 1:02pm »
Hello there,
I'm not very familliar with singing theory etc but I'm known to have pretty good "clean" singing technique by my friends.
Recently I've found out that my voice pretty much matches Chester Bennington from Linkin parks singing and was wondering what the best suited training would be to learn his screaming techniques.
Practice your singing with Robbie Williams songs « Result #9 on Nov 18, 2009, 10:05am »
Hello all singing and Robbie Williams fans. I have just written an interesting article and my friend suggested, that I should also write about it in this forum, because the users here might be interested. As you can understand from the topic, it contains free karaoke versions of Robbie Williams songs. To make matters clear, they are not MIDI versions of songs, but proper audio tracks, all together 20 of his best songs. You don’t have to make any accounts, because they are streaming online. The link I’m going to give you, will direct you to a blog, from where you will find an article, which has been created solely for informative purposes. If anyone tries it out, please reply to this post, that it is indeed, safe. So get your friends together and have fun singing =)

Re: Vocal "locked" voice « Result #11 on Nov 13, 2009, 12:37am »
Hmm, that sounds pretty nice to me.
I'm quite critical of singing voices, including my own, but that sounds nice. Your voice has a lovely timber and tone to it...
You have quite a pronounced vibrato...this can make you sound a bit more formal and rehearsed than more poppy/casual sounding pop singers, you know? Maybe that's what your friend meant by you sounding "locked"...
You do sound quite RESERVED...just in your style of singing...but I don't know if that's any sort of vocal issue or problem. I like how your voice sounds.
Remember also, everyone's got a different idea of what sounds good, etc. Your friend may be used to heavy metal rock voices and thinks anyone who "holds back" a bit (which it does sound like you're doing a little) is "locked".

Hello all! « Result #13 on Nov 13, 2009, 12:06am »
Hi everyone!
My name's not really Eunice Hairburger, but I do love singing, and have recently never really sung in front of anyone...not since I was 4 years old and sang nursery rhymes with my mum, heheh.
My partner and I have a home recording studio set up in our study, and we've been trying to make some interesting music for a little while now...she plays the guitar, I "play" (by ear and improvisation only) the keyboard, and thus all the drums and percussion sounds through the keyboard, and one day I will think up some lyrics and sing them!
Oh, and my favourite musicians etc are...
1. Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks especially) 2. Jefferson Airplane (Grace Slick rocks!!) 3. Frank Zappa 4. Kate Bush 5. The Beatles 6. Dusty Springfield 7. Marianne Faithfull 8. Lou Reed 9. The Stones
There are many more...The Mamas & the Papas, Simon & Garfunkel, Jane Siberry, kd Lang, The Carpenters, blah, blah...yeah.

Searching for motivated competition singers « Result #15 on Nov 10, 2009, 5:22pm »
Can anyone suggest methods to contact male singers interested in singing in a competition chorus. The chorus I belong to has been invited to compete at the international level, and we are eager to put our best foot forward.
We practice for 8 hours once a month on Saturdays. It literally is 8 hours of hard work singing and working the presentation packages.
Any ideas you may have will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am a recently appointed director for a local a-capella group, and am doing everything I can to offer the chorus a challenging and rewarding experience. I also sing with a competition group on the west coast of Florida. My preferred part is Lead, but can sing from Bass to Tenor efficiently.
Briefly looking at the threads here, I can see a number of potential assists for my future goals with the chorus.
